Complete the Texas LTC Training Course

This is the classroom instruction and handgun proficiency portion of the process, where you’ll attend a course of instruction in several required topics, and demonstrate proficiency with a handgun in a timed, live-fire exercise on a shooting range. By law, this class must offer between 4 and 6 hours of instruction, including the proficiency demonstration.

Classroom Instruction

The classroom portion will cover at least four required topics:

1. Lawful Carry and Use of Force
2. Safe Storage and Handling
3. Non-violent Dispute resolution
4. Handgun Use
